I don't know what it is. There is something about 'the M word' that makes me crazy. Could it be that it always seems to be dreary, really cold, too hot, too humid, too windy, too....Monday. It's not like I have to go to school. It's not like I have to go to a 9-5 job. I think I just become hyper-sensitive. For instance....The sound of someone eating. It sounds like there is a microphone in their mouth. (irritating). The dog (cute new dog) walking across the hardwood floor with her toenails clickety clickety click. The phone ringing.....period.
I don't like to be this way after I've had an exceptional weekend. I did do 12 loads of laundry on Saturday. "Twelve?" Yep. Twelve. This is what happens when you wait to see if your two eldest children will EVER bring their dirty laundry down the stairs. They didn't. I had to remind them. That wasn't the exceptional part. The exceptional part was when my parents and pastor/friend (and family) came over for Sunday dinner. Fourteen people and a new dog in the Rager house doesn't happen very often. The Chaos.....I like it.
This isn't chaotic. This is what happens after you eat pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, and Amish sheet cake on a Sunday afternoon. Annie seems to like it.
THIS was way out of the norm for me. Normally on Sunday, it goes like this: Go to church. Go to Mom and Dad's. Eat. Go home. That's it. I like a routine. It's....well....routine. I like 'order'. I don't mind flying by the seat of my pants sometimes, but routine is what my life has to have. If I don't, I make EVERYONE else crazy. I'm incredibly blessed to have a family (biological and not biological) and friends that understand this. When I say "I need a break". They know that if I don't "take a break" I'm going to "break something". See....it all works. Selfish? Probably. This is usually what happens with an 'only child'.
So here I am....on a Monday.....thinking about paying ALL my bills online. Watching the squirrels. Listening to Max and Mikey run through the house while squealing (playing with the dog). Goonies on the TV in kitchen. First, I'm gonna hit the orange PUBLISH button at the top of this page and then Jesus and I are gonna have some together time. You know what, Mondays aren't so bad after all. Have a Blessed Week everyone.
