I think that Tuesday has become the new Monday. I think that most of us, whether you work outside of the home or you don't, you tend to drag your weekend to at least Monday afternoon. So now it's Tuesday, and I don't have an excuse to 'piddle around'. It didn't help (or hurt) that the kids didn't have school yesterday. They helped their dad work out in the shop, while I tried to tame the wild beast that I call the "the kitchen".
So here it is Tuesday, mid morning and I'm just now thinking about the things that I need to do this week. I take full responsibility for this laziness. I have been a SAHM full time for a few years now. I actually got an ego lift this morning when Maximus noticed that I cleaned the cap on the toothpaste. Seriously? THIS is what I'm blogging about? Heck Yes!! A five year old NOTICES that something is clean and even acknowledges it? I'm a little surprised that I didn't call the radio station to have a song dedicated to him.
On top of that, I get to have lunch with my mom today. This makes me happy. We don't spend as much time together as we used to. I'm not sure why. I think we just take each other for granted and then we 'move on'. She's a good mom, mammaw, and MIL. So, I'm not so sure WHY we don't find more time to spend together. Doesn't matter today, because today.....she's mine!!!
I'm asking all of you to enjoy your day. If you get the chance, call your mom. Tell her you love her. Some of you have 'issues'. Some are angry at trivial things. Some are angry with good reason. Is the anger hurting you? Is it time to let it go? Is it time to look from her perspective? Stop and think. When was the last time you called your mom just say, "I love you"? I know too many people who wish they had one more chance to do that. I don't want to ever miss the chance. I love you, Mom. Now....what's for lunch? Just kidding...but....seriously...I am hungry.
