Today is a day that should be marked on the calendar. Shane and I did NOT go to church this morning. We haven't missed a Sunday since....well....this past summer when we were in North Carolina....at a 3 day Hippie Dippie Christian Festival called The Wildgoose Festival. There was no real "intention" on missing church. I just didn't set the clock...on purpose. I awoke at 8:30am and stayed in bed until 11am. It was actually awesome, but I kept looking at the clock so that made it a little "forced". If I'm away from home, I don't feel bad. But I have to tell you...staying in bed on a Sunday...Not as much fun as I was hoping it would be.
I did do laundry. I had lunch with my parents. I put items on ebay. I did Thank God for everything that he continues to give me every single day. However, something was missing. This is where 'fellowship' comes in. I hear from people all the time "You don't have to go to church to be a Christian". I'm aware of this. However...one Sunday I realize HOW much I enjoy being with other Jesus Followers. I need to be around Jesus Followers. Even when you don't agree with EVERYTHING a particular thing a person has to say or what they think.....it is nice to be around others who are excited to have you around. (even if it's just for a moment).
With that....I'm going to say that I'm getting tattooed in a little over a week and I'm so excited I can barely stand it. I haven't had a needle placed in me in a long time. This is an emotional experience also. I get to talk about Jesus to someone who taught me tolerance, grace, and acceptance. He's also an atheist. I have missed talking with Jon Brown. I'm excited about getting some things cleaned up (tattoos and business) and to spend time with a friend that continues to inspire me.
